Ahead of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s high-profile confirmation hearings this week to become President Donald Trump’s secretary of health and human services, Caroline Kennedy on Tuesday urged senators to reject her cousin’s nomination, calling him a “predator.”
Kennedy, who claimed she felt compelled to speak up, read aloud the letter she sent to senators about her cousin’s disturbing conduct over the years, accusing him of being “addicted to attention and power” and holding inconsistent views on vaccines.
Bobby is someone I’ve known my entire life. Given that Bobby is a predator himself, it’s not surprising that he keeps birds of prey as pets,” Kennedy added.
Kennedy recounted a distressing incident in which her cousin used to blend newborn mice and chickens to feed them to his birds years ago.
I saw his cousins and younger brothers follow him into drug addiction. He liked to show off how he blended newborn mice and chickens to feed his hawks, and his basement, garage, and dorm room were always the hub of activity where narcotics were available. “It was frequently a twisted scene of violence and despair,” she claimed.
Kennedy accused her cousin of living a double standard and profiting financially from part of his vaccination skepticism, even though she noted that he had been able to “pull himself out of illness and disease.”
Bobby is addicted to power and attention, even though he might inspire a younger generation to go to AA meetings. By vaccinating his own children while hypocritically discouraging other parents from vaccinating theirs, Bobby preys on the despair of parents of ill children, she claimed.
